Colla Micheri has an incredible peculiarity: from the coast you can't see it at all, because the houses are arranged on the back slope of the hill.
The small village was in fact built in this way so that the Saracen ships couldn’t see it, as in past times they terrorized the inhabitants with their incursions on the coast.
The choice turned out to be very happy, because when it is evening and the sun has set over Laigueglia, in Colla Micheri you can still enjoy a splendid spectacle: just turn your back to the sea to see the sun going out behind the hills amang the olive trees.
