It’s the perfect time for mountain biking in our beautiful paths of Western Liguria.
Tracks for every level of difficulty, from the simplest to the most challenging, with muscle bikes or e-bikes, for families or groups of friends or enthusiasts.
Today we are talking about a beautiful hike very quiet and scenic, with an easy route suitable even for the less experienced: the hill of Laigueglia.
This beautiful route connects the ancient and charming medieval village of Colla Micheri with the Green Route of Alassio that ends at the ruins of the Church of San Bernardo.
During this excursion you can visit Colla Micheri, an authentic "Ligurian pearl" set on the heights between Laigueglia and Andora (Savona), along the route of the ancient Via Romana Julia Augusta.
In the tiny village of Colla Micheri, time seems to have stopped. Amazes for its beauty, for the splendid panorama it offers and for the perfumes of a green and luxuriant nature.
Between the blue of the sea and the green of the dense trees, there is the lovely stone paved square, where there is the Church of San Sebastiano, dark red, on which there is a plaque commemorating the passage of Pope Pio VII returning from his French exile.
In a dominant position there is a sixteenth-century Saracen tower and below it’s the tomb of Thor Heyandahl, an anthropologist, explorer and Norwegian navigator known all over the world, who chose just Colla Micheri as his home between one trip and another. Even today his house is inhabited periodically by his heirs.
Our mountain bike guide knows all the secrets of this beautiful, all-round route, which is very rewarding for a day of outdoor sports, culture and joy for the eyes.
